Graciela G. Saenz Board Member
Bio: Former Houston City Councilmember Gracie Saenz collaborated with two partners in 2000 to establish Oppel, Goldberg & Saenz PLLC, a law firm with a focus on business and commercial transactions. Saenz focuses on small business development, as well as international transactions. Prior to striking out on her own, Saenz worked as a leader in the international law section for the legal firm of Broocks, Baker & Lange. She has also served as a Harris County Assistant District Attorney for four years, formed Burkhart & Saenz where she practiced criminal and general practice for a few years before becoming the first Hispanic in the City of Houston's history to be elected to an at large position on the Council. Saenz received her BA in Spanish and her JD from University of Houston and completed a Mexican Legal Studies Program at the Universidad Panamericana in Mexico. A proud mother of three and a new grandmother, Saenz has been married to retired HPD Sergeant and current Executive Director of the DARE corporation Eloy Saenz for 27 years.
